Site/Company: Juniate Forge, Marietta Furnace, Schoenberger Rolling Mills, Sarah Furnace, Bloomfield Furnace, Rebecca Furnace, Elizabeth Furnace, Martha Furnace, Marietta Forges, and others in other states

Historical Significance: 

Dr. Peter Schoenberger has been described as the most prominent ironmaster in Pennsylvania.  He owned iron works in Bedford, Cambria, Indiana, Westmoreland, Lancaster, Mercer, Allegheny, and perhaps other counties, and in West Virginia.  In 1961, Calvin Hetrick published a history of Peter Schoenberger, whom Hetrick described as "the iron king."
