The National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum is a project of the Graystone Society, a 501(c)3 pubic charity registered with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Charitable Organizations. 

Contributions to the Graystone Society and the National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

The Lukens National Historic District along South First Avenue includes several key residential and office buildings that played a significant role in the development of Lukens and are National Historic Landmark properties.

The proximity of these homes and offices to the mill reflects the Lukens and Huston families’ long-standing commitment to living and working close to the factory and the community. These structures and the mill tell the story of the home and work life of company owners through the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

Surrounding these core elements is the City of Coatesville. Here, too, much of the historic fabric remains, with approximately one third of the city’s properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
