Dear Mr. Frey,
I/we am writing today to express my/our support for the National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum project that the Graystone Society is undertaking in Coatesville.
Pennsylvania has long been known as the heart of the steel industry in this country and I/we am proud to endorse the concept of a national museum to celebrate this fact in Coatesville. This is especially important since our country currently lacks a comprehensive museum dedicated to the history and present day workings of the U.S. steel industry.
It is my/our understanding that the National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum will not only be a museum in the traditional sense, but will also be a hub for education and innovation regarding the steel industry in America. I/we can think of no greater place for such project than southeastern Pennsylvania and downtown Coatesville.
I/we am also excited about the potential economic development benefits such a project will bring to Coatesville and the surrounding area. With increased tourism revenue from the museum itself, new jobs and an increased focus on education and technological innovation, I/we think the museum could serve as the driving force behind resurgence of Coatesville.
Finally, I/we am thrilled to support a project that will tell the inspirational story of Rebecca Lukens. What a great lesson in determination, guts and entrepreneurship for our nation to be reminded of.
I/we look forward to hearing how the museum project is progressing in the months and years to come. Thank you for embarking on such an ambitious project.
