Please join with us by asking ArcelorMittal to help us help them achieve their goal, by making the home of one of their premier facilities a better place to live and work for their employees. Not to mention the increased positive publicity the museum will bring to Coatesville and in turn, the major employer of our town, ArcelorMittal.
Here at the National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum (NISHM), we believe that with the transfer of the mill buildings from ArcelorMittal to the Graystone Society, a pivotal piece of the beginning of Coatesville’s economic rejuvenation will be jump-started. NISHM already brings visitors to Coatesville each year. With the mill buildings acquired to house the various exhibits and the ability to centerpiece the acquisition of the World Trade Center Steel trees, Coatesville will become a true destination. It will be a destination not only for Chester County and Pennsylvania, but also for the entire United States and world stage. The 500 tons of WTC steel trees here at NISHM is the largest collection of WTC steel outside of NYC. 9/11 history lives here in Coatesville.
So, it makes logical sense that if people migrate to the museum, the Coatesville economy will realize an infusion of revenue, as these visitors will want a place to dine, to lodge and to shop/visit. These guests will bring with them sustaining ability to raise the local economy and the town will respond with more places for them to dine, lodge and shop/ visit and the need for manpower to run those operations
Thank you for taking the time to write a letter of support.
Sincerely,
James D. Ziegler
