Throughout the twentieth century, the 206” rolling mill made wide plates for American petroleum, chemical and food processing; boiler manufacturing; electrical and atomic power equipment, and transportation and shipbuilding. A good portion of the steel rolled on the 206” mill went into American defense, particularly in Navy ships and submarines.
