Aircraft Carriers
Armor plate rolled on Coatesville’s 206” Rolling Mill went into the U.S. Navy’s aircraft carriers, including the Nimitz-class, the second largest in the world.  The under-construction Gerald R. Ford-class, the largest aircraft carriers in the world, will also be made with Coatesville steel.  Shown is the USS Nimitz (CVN-68), commissioned in 1975 and is still in service today.
