Midvale Steel Company

During the war, Midvale Steel Company purchased Coatesville’s Worth Brothers’ works and plate mills.  Midvale Steel & Ordnance Company’s main contracts were for 140,000 8-inch howitzer shells and 250,000 155-millimeter forgings. The company also produced more than 850,000 tons of steel plates for the U.S. Navy.
